Lid placement errors are the major cause of package sealing rejects. The Model 2400e Parallel Seam Sealer with Automatic Lid Placement automates this yield-critical placement process. Lid placement is ensured to better than ± 0.002" 3σ, monitored by automatic lid placement inspection with data collection capability. The automation is driven by a completely automatic process, which incorporates vision-on-lid and vision-on-package processing for lid placement, tacking, and sealing in a single step.

This sealer accommodates the widest range of package and lid shapes through interactive position teaching, with cursor-controlled pattern definition and head placement. Operator control is through a convenient Windows user interface. Lids can be supplied from a variety of sources, including the package holding tool, lid cassettes, or automatic lid feeders.
